4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect size but not yet a perfect mouse for me, March 26, 2012

I come from using Xai and Logitech G3 as my main mouse so I'll mainly use them as comparison in my reviews.

Kana has the perfect size because Xai was JUST a little to big for my hand. Speaking of Xai, Kana's buttons' clicks are louder and of slighlty less-quality feel to them. However, Kana's scroll wheel are much more smooth. I'd say the clicks in between scrolls are less obvious than average mouse. I like this so it's perfect for me but if you like very distinct clicks on your scroll wheel, stay away.

I really like the placement of the two size buttons because they are right where my fingers are and as they are flushed with the body -- unlike the side buttons on Logitech G3 which stick out a lot and Xai which stick out just a little. There really is little chance for accidental click.

Also if you like your mouse to have some weight, Kana may also not be for you. It is quite a bit lighter for me coming from Xai and even compared to Logitech G3,... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars So Far, So Good., April 22, 2012

I've been searching for a good gaming mouse lately and I think this is going to be the one. I had been using the Razer Orochi because it was so portable, but since it's so small I wanted something different. I tried the Razer Deathadder which was nice but a little too large for my hand. The Kana is just a bit smaller than the Deathadder but it fits my hand much better. The two side buttons are in a great spot and very rarely accidentally clicked. The Steelseries software is easy to set up and the on the fly sensitivity switching is very easy. The biggest downside to this mouse is probably that the cpi is not fully adjustable. 400, 800, 1600, and 3200 but nothing in between those. Luckily I'm adjusting to the 1600 pretty well but it would be nice if the cpi were more customizable.

I wanted a mouse without a lot of flash but still good quality. The dual DPI settings are neat (be sure to install the steel series software!) Probably not the best hardcore gaming mouse but is solid, comfortable and reliable.
